The British Museum has topped the list of most-visited tourist attractions in Britain for the ninth year in a row, drawing over six million visitors, or, as London Mayor Boris Johnson points out, “…more visitors to the British Museum alone than came to the whole of Belgium.”
The ranking comes from Britain’s Association of Leading Visitor Attractions, which says that the attractions averaged a 3.2% increase in visitors over last year. The Telegraph (UK) has a slideshow showing each of the 15 top draws, with information about each, HERE
Another “Best of Britain” survey that doesn’t see beyond London.
The Albert Dock in Liverpool has 6.3 Million visitors per annum – and not a mention.
The Albert Dock is a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE.
