Just before Disney opens its first park in China, Ferrari has made a deal of its own with Chinese companies to open a Ferrari-themed park in China, in a city still to be chosen.
When built, it will be similar to parks that Ferrari has opened in Abu Dhabi and is building in Spain, with thrill rides involving Ferrari’s racing history and luxury cars, including roller coasters on which the cars are F430 Spider clones or Formula One racers, and racing simulations that put you next to the driver in a real Formula One race.
Ferrari’s goal in developing the parks is to keep up positive publicity and emphasize its luxury image. China is an important market for Ferrari; even with a dip this year, it already accounts for 5% of Ferrari’s sales, and expects to grow.
