Mimicing the format of Iron Chef, Chicago’s O’Hare airport will host the second annual “Channel Your Inner Chef” competition this Tuesday, a live 30-minute dash for contestants to turn a surprise basket of ingredients into a tasty dish.
The winner’s dish will be added to the menu of one of the airport restaurants run by HMSHost, which operates O’Hare’s food services and is a sponsor of the competition. Other prizes include a trip back to Chicago to attend the James Beard Awards in May, and a pair of tickets to anywhere in the U.S.
In addition to the cook-off, other events (all post-security, you’ll need a flight!) include demonstrations by HMSHost chefs, samples from the restaurants, and live music.
