Mar. 30, 2016: Bus Stop, Venice

When your streets are canals, your bus stop shelter is going to be different, too, and so are your buses. San Silvestro, one stop before the iconic Rialto bridge is a typical example, and the ‘vaporetto’ below is a typical Venetian bus.

My wife and I paid a visit to Venice in December 1989. Being the off season it was not very crowded and the prices were great. We had our hotel right beside the Rialto bridge. Venice was fantastic for just wandering through the maze of streets?? and canals. There was always some little shop or café to discover around the next corner. Hope to return in the future. Thanks for the memories.

Those buses get as crowded as street buses.  I almost saw a little old lady pushed into the Grand Canal, so definitely hang on tightly when you’re aboard!
