The Czech Republic wants to be referred to as “Czechia” if approved by Parliament. The country wants to make it easier for companies and sports teams to use the name on products and clothing.
If approved, the country will keep it’s full name but “Czechia’ will become the official short geographic name, like” France” is for the French Republic.
