Cities with Universities often have a quirky side. That unique side of Columbia, South Carolina is reflected in some of the Street Art. The parking meter sculpture is pretty neat. And the Giant Rooster (below) that’s in a parking lot, attracts a lot of attention. It was probably put there to support the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.
Desert View Watchtower, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
Another thing I like doing is taking photos of the information signs. Amazing what I learn from them as I look through my photos and read them. Here is a photo of a sign I took not far from the Rooster.
I enjoy street art like this. I never drive through a town without looking around to see what they’ve decided to decorate their streets with (if anything).
