Bolton Castle, Yorkshire Dales.

Bolton Castle, built c.1378, is privately owned and still occupied. The castle is in a remarkable state of preservation and is an impressive site overlooking the Yorkshire Dales. The 14th century church of St Oswald is nearby. It has 12th century stone carvings within the tower, so there may have been an earlier structure on the site.

Wild Boar are farmed on the castle site, and the castle also boasts falconry displays and medieval gardens.
