Air Canada is adding a non-stop flight from Vancouver to New Delhi, starting October 20th, just in time for India’s Diwali celebrations. The route will use one of Air Canada’s new 787s, and fly three times a week.
For now it’s a seasonal route, but demand could change that picture. Air Canada already flies to New Delhi from Toronto. The Vancouver route will cut time and distance to India for flyers from Western Canada and some U.S. West Coast cities. Since Vancouver is a “pre-clearance” city, Air Canada hopes to attract many U.S. passengers.
Air Canada is ramping up its Vancouver hub in general, adding new services this year to Brisbane, Dublin, and Osaka. It’s also increasing overseas coverage from Toronto. For more information from Air Canada, click HERE
