May 4, 2016: The Pend Oreille River Valley, Washington

The Pend Oreille River originates from Lake Pend Oreille in Idaho and winds its way across the Idaho panhandle, through Washington state and southern British Columbia to join the mighty Columbia River.  It drains a large portion of land between the Rocky mountains and the Columbia highlands.  

It’s a beautiful valley, as you can see from the featured photo.  My oldest son and I were camping for a few nights at a nearby lake and while we were exploring, stopped to enjoy the view, including of a nearby rainbow!
