Piermont NY dates back to 1847. It is about 15 miles north of New York City on the west side of the Hudson River. It has been home to a carton factory, and to a long railroad pier used by the Erie RR to get around the Palisades of New Jersey. Today it is a place that is inundated by bicyclists on weekends.
