Amsterdam is conducting 18 experiments to encourage tourists to get out of the crowded city center and into other parts of the city.
Among the experiments, the city is trying to stop tour buses from driving around the Museumplein and getting them to park into a special coach park. Amsterdam is also building new footpaths to encourage people to take a walk east and creating bus links to interesting places outside the center. If these experiments are successful they will be expanded to other parts of the city.
