Air France cabin crews plan 7-day strike

Negotiations between Air France and two unions representing a majority of its cabin crews have broken down, and a strike is scheduled to start Wednesday, lasting through Tuesday, August 2nd.

Air France flights on short- and medium-haul routes within Europe will be the most affected; the airline expects to maintain its long-haul international schedules. Its affiliates, including KLM, Transavia and Hop! will not be affected. Up to 130,000 passengers may be affected.

Air France has called scheduling a strike during peak summer season “irresponsible,” but has not budged on a number of issues the unions consider key. Labor relations at the company have been poor for the past few years while the company was struggling; it’s expected to post its first profit in years this year. More detail from TheLocal.fr HERE
