Negotiations between Air France and two unions representing a majority of its cabin crews have broken down, and a strike is scheduled to start Wednesday, lasting through Tuesday, August 2nd.
Air France flights on short- and medium-haul routes within Europe will be the most affected; the airline expects to maintain its long-haul international schedules. Its affiliates, including KLM, Transavia and Hop! will not be affected. Up to 130,000 passengers may be affected.
Air France has called scheduling a strike during peak summer season “irresponsible,” but has not budged on a number of issues the unions consider key.
