For an awesome 360-degree view of San Francisco, you must visit the Coit Tower. Also known as the Lillian Coit Memorial Tower, this 210-foot (64 m) tower is located in the Telegraph Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The tower (in the city’s Pioneer Park) was built in 1933 using Lillie Hitchcock Coit‘s bequest to beautify the city of San Francisco, for at her death in 1929 Coit left one-third of her estate to the city for civic beautification.
The tower was proposed in 1931 as an appropriate use of Coit’s gift. Since then, the Coit Tower has become an emblem of San Francisco’s skyline, a welcoming beacon to visitors and residents alike. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 29, 2008. From it’s observation deck which is reached by elevator (tickets can be purchased in the gift shop), you will see this 360-degree view of the city:
The Golden Gate Bridge with Lombard Street in the top left hand corner of the picture which is an east – west street that is famous for a steep, one-block section with eight hairpin turns.
Here is a close-up view of Lombard Street.
Panning to the right you will see Pier 39 and Alcatraz.
Panning more to the right you will see Treasure Island and the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge.
Panning more to the right you will see more of the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge and part of downtown San Francisco.

You have now seen (and hopefully enjoyed) the 360-degree view of San Francisco from the Coit Tower.
It really is one of the most beautiful cities in North America. Thanks for reminding us of these great views!
