You’ve seen all the surveys that say travelers are more interested in fast and free Wi-Fi than in anything else…but your mother and your 2nd-grade teacher told you that breakfast was the most important meal of the day.
We’ve covered the Wi-Fi surveys before, but now USA Today has a breakfast survey, conducted by a 114-member panel of their Road Warriors…and the winner, with 39 votes, was Hilton’s Embassy Suites brand, followed by two other Hilton brands, Hampton Inn and Garden Inn.
Further down the list were Holiday Inn Express, Marriott’s Residence Inn. The rest of the votes were scattered among a variety of brands, some of them from the Comfort Inn group and Hyatt.
The winning combo for Embassy, from the comments, seems to be keeping the food fresh, especially the fruit, quick cleanup and good pancakes. For more details of the survey and comments, click HERE

Hawthorn Suites on Westwood Blvd. Orlando do a great breakfast ! Pity they don’t do WiFi too.
Breakfasts have improved at American hotels, but are nowhere near the quality of what most European hotels have to offer. There it’s worth looking at tripadvisor reviews to see who comments on the quality of breakfast.
There are a few breakfast items that most Europeans aren’t keen on.
Waffles – Muffins – Cinnamon Bread – Maple Syrup – Grape Jelly – Margarine – Turkey Bacon – Pretzels – Granola and Tea made with water that’s not at the boil.
Stuff we don’t buy at home. Stuff we don’t see in the food stores.
