Spain’s ‘Napflix’ takes siesta to a new level

Spain is renowned for the mid-day siesta that refreshes the body, relieves the summer heat, and accounts for Spain’s very late dinner hour—but some people are apparently unable to take part because they just don’t feel sleepy.

Now, two Spanish entrepreneurs have come up with the solution: an internet site devoted to the most boring and sleep-inducing video they can find. They explain: “We all know the feeling of insomnia. Your body wants to sleep but your mind is still awake and active. So how can we steady up our mind,” Napflix is a video platform where you can find the most silent and sleepy content selection to relax your brain and easily fall asleep.”

Of course, one person’s drowsy is another’s exciting, so the site offers a wide variety at their Napflix.tv site. Among the offerings:

  • Eight hours of a candle burning
  • Cricket matches
  • The film voted worst ever by IMDB users
  • A long-winded pysics lecture
  • An automated Tetris game that goes on forever
  • Long-distance bicycle races
  • A burning fireplace with crackling sounds
  • Waterfalls and nature sounds
  • Rain on a window…endlessly

Your get the idea. “We’re taking siesta to the next level,” they say.
