Ok, it’s not really the building where the fictional 5.0 police squad on Hawaii 5.0 work, but the outside is used in the show. In actuality, it houses the King Kamehameha V Judiciary History Center which features exhibits as well as multimedia presentations on landmark Hawaii court cases as well as Hawaii’s legal history.
Thus it is not surprising that it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. It is open to the public, but reservations are required for guided tours. We love Hawaii 5.0 and always comment about how much we like the building. I love the grounds and the famed gold-leaf statue of Kamehameha the Great out front. We were both very happy to be able to see it on our recent trip to Oahu.
