A survey sponsored by Booking.com has found that nearly 30% of the business travelers surveyed would take a job with lower pay if it meant more business travel.
Part of the reason is a trend, identified by the survey, to pad out business trips with some leisure time; 49% said they had done so in the last year, and 27% plan to extend a trip in 2017. About 55% of the respondents said they like traveling for work, and 46% say the expect to travel for business more this year than last.
While London and Paris continue to be popular stops for business travelers, there is also a trend to more off-the-beaten-path destinations. The data also lists the ten fastest-growing cities for business travel: Shanghai, Tokyo, Bangkok, Guangzhou, New York, Budapest, Singapore, Hong Kong, Prague and Amsterdam.

I think many travelers do this. I certainly do. If your business trip takes you to a destination you love or have not visited before, why not take a few days of your own time to explore it?
