Norwegian orders even more cruise ships

The big cruise lines seem to just keep on growing and renovating. After a year in which Carnival announced new ships for its various brands, Norwegian has now placed an order for 4 new mega ships, and options for two more.

The new ships, scheduled for delivery one a year starting in 2022, will take 3000 passengers each, and will be be slightly scaled-down versions of the ‘Breakaway-Plus’ class ships, such as the newly-delivered Norwegian Joy, which begins its maiden season this summer in Asia. Those ships take 4000 passengers.

According to the company, the new ships will be aimed at energy efficiency, reducing fuel consumption and cost, and lowering the impact on the environment
