This is the second in a three part series on Catania’s fabulous market. The highlight of the market is its vast assortment of fresh seafood, which we looked at last week in this post. We visited the market during a particularly cold snap in February (we actually had snow in Palermo one day), and I was surprised at the large assortment of beautiful fresh produce available. Especially prominently featured were artichokes and oranges, which were the main crops being harvested in Sicily at that time.
