Of course, there’s no one answer to that question, and it’s surely been the subject of plenty of family friction over the years, between those who just want to relax, and those looking forward to an active vacation.
But a recent 17-country survey says that the numbers favor those who want to chill out, with 59% of those surveyed opting for relaxation and 35% saying they prefer active vacations. The other 6%? Perhaps they were too chilled out to answer.
More details on the numbers:
- Brazil, South Korea and Japan have the highest margins for relaxing, while Italy, France and Spain lead the demand for active vacations
- Teenagers, while still giving a bare majority to relaxing vacations rang up 43% for active.
- Preferences shift with age: Apparently, the older we are the more likely we are to prefer to just relax; by 60 or over the interest in active vacations falls to 30%
