Paris has taken a number of initiatives in recent years to clear streets for pedestrians, but it’s also cleared the way for driver Salavador Bueni who won yesterday’s Paris ePrix auto race on some of those same streets.
The race is a Formula 1 style contest, but with electric-powered cars that can hit 225 km/h on the streets. It’s the second year Paris has hosted the race, with the goal of getting attention for sustainable and non-polluting transportation.
Last year there were complaints it was too hard to see the race, which used a route near Invalides, so this year more space was provided for viewers, as well as 21 giant screens.
