As much as the world looks to cycling to help end traffic jams, in some places, such as Copenhagen, the movement’s been so successful that there are now daily bicycle jams in the dedicated bike lanes.
The city is installing a series of big-screen information signs on bike lanes headed to the city center, with information on traffic conditions and suggestions of alternate routes to avoid the worst congestion.
According to the city’s head of technology and environment, “More accessibility is needed for the increasing number of cyclists that unfortunately are fighting for space on cycle lanes.”
