Last year’s sci-fi is today’s reality, and last year’s futuristic plans for ‘Sea Bubble’ water taxis to ply the Seine in Paris is this week’s actual test run.
The bubbles, actually compact-car sized boats that rise out of the water on 4 legs and use waterjets for propulsion got a river road test, seen in this video:
They are the brainchild of former yachtsman Alain Thebault, who says his daughters challenged him to create a zero-emission way to get through the city quickly. TravelGumbo covered the story last year in this blog.
