I love vising the downtowns of rural America and Sylvania, Georgia has a particularly picturesque one. Courthouse Park even has two Civil-War era 12-pound Napoleon cannons on display.
Sylvania,Georgia is a little out of the way but the historic Highway 301 runs through it. If you’re traveling through Georgia from South Carolina to Florida, try the highway, instead of I-95, to get a glimpse of the past. I really enjoyed the highway and Sylvania.
Sylvania enjoys visitors and their Welcome Center is believed to be the nation’s oldest continually operating roadside visitor center.
