“Le Village préféré des Français,” or France’s Favorite Village for 2017 honors have gone to Kayserberg, in Alsace, which won out in a field of 12 nominated in by viewers of the TV program of the same name.
The competition, which started in 2012, has picked an Alsatian town before; Eguisheim won in 2013. The designation is expected to draw tourism attention to the relatively-unknown town, with its beautiful settings and ancient churches, one dating to the 13th century.
