Night travel around London is about to get easier, as the London Overground joins the Underground in offering 24-hour service on Fridays and Saturdays.
Starting in December, parts of the Overground service will stay open, and early next year, more will be added; the services are focused on southeast London, which didn’t get night service when Night Tube service started last year. It currently operates on parts of five London subway lines.
City officials are claiming a big success for the weekend night service, with 6.5 million riders, 2000 permanent jobs and a £77 million boost for the economy.
