Guangdong Province in China is planning what it calls the ‘world’s longest coastal road,’ connecting 14 coastal cities. The project includes over 1,000 km of new construction and 600 km of roads that will be upgraded to highway standards.
The road, which will be themed to different functions, including coastal urban areas, tourism and sightseeing, beautiful villages and landscape transitions, will also include bicycle lanes along the entire length. Along its length, it will pass over 90 tourist attractions.
Construction of the first 500 km segment will begin later this year.
