The photo above was taken on a beach just north of Kovalam in Kerala, India. Our hotel was just behind the beach and we had been watching the various groups of fishermen from our balcony. We decided to take a closer look and the men were quite happy for us to take some photos of them pulling in the nets. It is very hard work in the searing sun!
The herons were ready to pounce on any fish that had fallen from the net as it was pulled in.
The fishermen’s catch did not seem very impressive.
However, they were clearly going to have another go.
