Dubai International Airport has a new wrinkle: a hands-free way to do away with check-in and security counters by taking lots of images of passengers as they walk through the airport and comparing them with the file copy.
It’s being installed in one terminal and will be in place by late next year; it will be in the others by 2020 year. First-time travelers will need to stop and have a picture taken and get a security check.
The first tunnel has a constantly changing aquarium image display that’s designed to keep people looking at different angles to create a large assortment of images to compare with a pre-filed picture. But the fish are not the only option; any kind of moving images that attract travelers would work.
