Along the way between Lille’s two main rail stations, we spotted this unusual and playful sculpture, which (despite early controversy) has become one of Lille’s symbols. Its official name is The Tulips of Shangri-La, by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.
Long after I thought of it as a Picture of the Day, I began to wonder other public works she might have created, and was not surprised to find quite a few, playing around with dots and mirrors and mannequins and other figures. Here are two more!
