Electric-powered hydrofoil water taxis that were originally proposed for and tested in Paris may instead go into operation on Lake Geneva in Switzerland.
The so-called ‘flying taxis’ had a trial on the Seine earlier this year, but operators and the city couldn’t come to an agreement on permanent licensing.
Now there’s a plan to test them in Switzerland with an eye to permanent service. Alain Thebault, the creator of the fleet, plans to put five of them in the water in April, if permits and docking space can be arranged.
