Recently I spent an overnight in Washington DC and had a little time to wander the city. At the National Gallery of Art, I enjoyed a stroll through their sculpture garden but unfortunately had no time to enter the main gallery.
I was attracted into the garden from across the street when I saw the “Typewriter Eraser” sculpture. I vividly recalled using this device in high school and college when creating typewritten assignments….
The “Spider”…
Headless “Girls”…
“Chair Transformation Number 20B”….
“Red Horse” (top photo), and “House 1” (below) attracted small crowds of onlookers.
My favorites were “AMOR”…
“Graft” which is the silver tree…
“Thinker on a Rock” where the artist substitutes a hare for Rodin’s Thinker…
“Four Sided Pyramid”…

….and “An Entrance to the Paris Metropolitain” which brought back memories of my few trips to Paris when I did use the Metro frequently.
