Taking a leaf from Disneyland and museums, Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport is testing a system that lets passengers make timed appointments to go through security without long lines.
The free reservation, which can include up to 5 people, designates a 15-minute block for passengers traveling within the Schengen no-border area on flights leaving between 10 am and 1:30 pm. In the test, the system can handle up to 400 appoints a day; if successful it will become permanent and extended.
In another ‘move-em-through’ change, Schiphol has also introduced super-fast security checks for people with only a small hand bag.
