A Norwegian flight from Oslo to Munich had to make an unscheduled pit stop only 20 minutes into the flight because of a broken toilet at 33,000 feet.
Ironically, 85 of the passengers were plumbers on their way to the Bavarian capital. You’d think fixing it would be no problem, but, as the head of one of the plumbing companies explained: “We would have liked to fix the restrooms, but unfortunately it had to be done from the outside and we did not take the opportunity to send a plumber [out] at 10,000 metres.”
After circling for an hour to burn off fuel, the flight returned to Oslo, where ground engineers found and fixed the problem. The plane took off again, arriving in Munich 3-1/2 hours late.
