Conway Castle was built in 1283 by King Edward the First to suppress the Welsh people. It has seen many battles and a Civil War since it was built.
This photo is a look inside a Castle for a change. The wooden floors and roofing have long gone. The rooms are massive and to get a true perspective you need to visit the site. Walkways have been added to get you safely around.
Here we can see an original fireplace. The square holes in the wall where the floor joists would have supported the wooden floor.
