There are no lasers in use, but Great Smoky Mountains National Park will again host one of nature’s most spectacular light shows: the mating ritual of a species of firefly that goes in for synchronous flashing.
So many people have taken to showing up for the event, which usually lasts about a week, that park authorities are holding a lottery for tickets to park and watch. Tomorrow night, April 30, is the deadline. To enter for a chance at one of the 6,000 passes that will be issued for June 7-14, click HERE
