Add another to Japan’s character-themed attractions, as Kobe prepares to open a Snoopy-themed hotel. It will join a host of other Snoopy joints, including cafes in Tokyo and at Osaka’s Imperial Hotel.
The first floor features a Peanuts Cafe modeled on the one in Tokyo, and serving chocolate chip and peanut butter milkshakes and other snacks on a take-out-only basis. It’s decorated with a wide variety of Peanuts memorabilia. Third floor has the real restaurant, the Peanuts Diner with character dishes made with local ingredients.
The guest rooms are individually designed around Snoopy themes, with a different motif, such as “happy” or “love” on each floor. Definitely not child’s play when it comes to the tab, however: Price per night is about $270.
