A polar bear—surprise guest at a hotel in Norway’s Svalbard territory—had a little trouble checking out after his overnight stay.
The bear, which apparently broke into a storage room overnight, tried to leave through a window and became stuck, or at least thought he was. A Swedish nature guide found that animal hanging out (so to speak) at the window.
Since the bear had been trapped for several hours and appeared panicked, opening a door didn’t seem like a great idea, and a call went out for bear specialists. But when they arrived, by helicopter, the sound apparently overcame the panic; the bear wiggled through the window, ran to the shore and jumped in.
