After appearances in hundreds of films, Paris’s famed Champs Elysées is about to become a different kind of movie venue, with a one-night film show on a giant screen at the Arc de Triomphe.
Voting finished yesterday, with the public having a chance to select one of three candidates to be shown on the 1800 square metre screen that will mask the arch on July 1st. The winner will be announced on June 22.
Seats are limited to 1700, with tickets going in a random drawing to people who voted in the film selection, although it will be visible to many more. Aside from the city, the sponsors include an association of businesses along the avenue.
