Why take a boring train from the airport when you can be driven in style by a ninja warrior or relax in a secure SUV with a (water-pistol) armed bodyguard?
That’s the premise Sanwa Kotsu, a Yokohama-based taxi company, is using to compete with Japan’s dense and efficient rail system. Oh, it has regular cabs, of course, but this year’s fun is the ninja cab, manned by a costumed driver who speaks as a stealth warrior (in Japanese), or the security-police style chauffeur armed with play pistols under his coat.
Past years have seen other models, including ones featuring kabuki theatre and horseback archery themes.
