The storm clouds part and suddenly a focused cone of light-beams bursts forth! I love scenes like these, not a rare finding but uncommon enough that it always draws my attention whenever I see it.
I’d first heard the term “Godbeams” in a lecture given by noted nature photographer,Galen Rowell (I was lucky enough to see him just a few months before his untimely death in a plane crash). While the term may be a little overly dramatic, it works for me.
These Godbeams were spotted over northeastern Oregon, while on a road-trip south to Nevada.
