It’s not a particularly beautiful flower or for that matter a very good photograph. But I love how this little plant is clinging to life!
The tree stump it’s growing on is submerged because the valley it’s in (near Leadville, Colorado) was flooded by the creation of a small water reservoir. The stump has started to decay and this little plant found enough material in which to root, grow and blossom!
If I were a plant, I’d like to be as resilient as this little guy.
