The Pergamon Museum on Berlin’s Museum Island houses the impressive Ishtar Gate. It served as the 8th entrance into the city of Babylon, and was dedicated to the god Ishtar by King Nebuchadnezzar II. It remnants of the gate were excavated and removed from Iran in the early 1900’s.
