The tiny town of Teissières-les-Bouliès in south-central France has turned its last remaining phone booth into a tourism office that may be just about the right size for a town of 350.
Of course, it no longer looks just like a phone booth: Volunteers clad the structure with larchwood panels, added shelves to hold flyers for local attractions and services, and to display information packs.
The village hopes the new facilitiy will attract more visitors, especially through the publicity around its claim to be the world’s smallest. They’ve asked for recognition from Guinness World Records, but there’s a competitor (below left) in England, at Braxton in Northumberland, which also claims the title. And, leaving aside the world of tourism info, there’s also the Warley Museum in Yorkshire that claims to be the world’s smallest museum.
