In the latest cross-platform tie-up, Amazon and Avis have teamed up to direct Amazon customers to Avis rentals, and offering Amazon gift-cards as rebates on the deal.
Starting later this month in the U.S., and eventually in other markets, Amazon customers who sign in to Avis with their Amazon accounts are being offered 10% back on time and mileage charges, and discounts up to 30% on basic Avis rates. For reservations made using Amazon’s Alexa app, the rebate is 20%.
The rebates are in the form of Amazon electronic gift cards, deposited into the renter’s Amazon account within 48 hours of returning the car. Taxes, fees and extras are not included in the total used for calculating rebate.
