Talk about a nervy guest! An angry vacation renter in Les Bondons, France, has demanded that the town’s church bells so she can sleep in.
In a letter to the mayor of the tiny town where she rented a former church residence, she complained that “it’s quite frankly unpleasant to be woken up at 7 am every morning while we’re on holiday.”
The mayor told local press that he was unimpressed: “It’s a presbytery. It’s close to the church. There you go.” He also pointed out that even if the town were to pay for a technician to change the bells for her, it would just be the start of every renter picking a different time.
In the end, the woman decided to sue the holiday booking agency she found the rental on, on grounds they hadn’t warned her of the bells.
