Sept. 12, 2018: Olympic Cauldron, Salt Lake City

While on a trip to Salt Lake City, Utah we were make a point to go check out the 2002 Olympic Cauldron.  It is located at the south end of Rice-Eccles Stadium on the campus of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. The plaza contains a 2002 Winter Olympic museum, the Olympic cauldron, and other memorabilia from the 2002 Olympic Games.

SLC 2002-1There is also a visitors center located at the western edge of the park and consists of an art gallery, theater and video kiosk area. Large bay windows allow the cauldron to be seen by visitors from inside the round glass and sandstone building, which also serves as a ticket office for the nearby stadium.  It was really cool to see and enjoy. We also made it to Park City, Utah to see that museum as well. It was a great trip down memory lane.
