If you’re expecting to travel over Thanksgiving, expect a lot of company. AAA says that about 54.3 million Americans, about one out of every 6, will be traveling, too—an increase of nearly 5% over last year.
The total is expected to be the highest since 2005. Of the total,m about 48.5 million will be on the road for distances over 50 miles, and the rest will be heading for the airport or rail station.
One guarantee: no matter where you’re headed, it’s likely to be crowded, and to take longer than you expect. INRIX, a mobility analytics company that works with AAA, has calculated just how much longer its likely to take, and what are the worst getaway times for a number of areas.
