Boeing’s latest, and biggest, Dreamliner, the 787-10 will soon start flying in North America and from the U.S. to Europe, with United Airlines. United is the second airline to actually own the 787-10; Singapore Airlines is the launch customer, but for now will be using its 787-10s only in the Pacific region.
United has 14 Dash-10s on order, and will start using them in daily service between New York/Newark and its California hubs at Los Angeles and San Francisco. Starting in March, the new planes will appear on routes from Newark/Liberty to Frankfurt, Paris, Barcelona, Brussels and Dublin, as well as Tel Aviv.
United has now become the only airline to own all three 787 versions. The Dash-10 is about 18 feet longer than the 787-9 and holds 318 seats in United’s configuration, with 199 in coach, 54 in Economy Plus, 44 business class and 21 in what United calls ‘Premium Plus.’
