I’ve lived most of my life in places where snow is the norm for Christmas. I enjoy the changing seasons, and Christmas and snow have always seemed co-mingled with stories of Santa Claus, carols and a Nativity scene.
I visited Florida a few weeks ago and was reminded how similar the celebration of the Holidays is everywhere. Of course, there’s no snow in this warm place and the vegetation is lush and subtropical, but still it’s a time for families and friends getting together, and the place definitely dresses up for the Holidays.
Here’s some of the sights we encountered in Southern Florida. I enjoyed these scenes from the classic Christmas movie, “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer”:
A Peanuts Christmas scene….
A dinosaur and reptilian Christmas!
Some dachshunds enjoying the slopes…
A flamingo Santa and his sled — pulled by flamingos…
Bambi and Thumper….
Some scenes from South Beach….
And finally a few photos from Key West….
Merry Christmas everyone!
